WHERE AM I GOING? GETTING TO THE BERKSHIRES
You are coming to Lenox, MA ! The main location for all of our events is Wheatleigh, a beautiful spot just outside of the town of Lenox (right down the road from Tanglewood). The address for Wheatleigh is Hawthorne Road, Lenox, MA 01240.
One reason the Berkshires are so attractive to city-folk is that the heart of the county is exactly 140 miles from both Boston and Manhattan. If you are driving it is about 2.5 hours from each city, where many of you live. If you are flying, in addition to checking Boston and New York area airports, you might also want to check out schedules for Albany, which is about an hour away. There is also bus service from NY and Boston to Lenox, and an occasional train to Pittsfield (NY only), but sadly these are more complicated options than driving.
You probably have your own favorite GPS service so I won’t add more details here - please let me know if you need additional transportation information.
WHERE AM I SLEEPING? ACCOMMODATIONS
Wheatleigh is not large, so we’ve made arrangements for rooms at several lovely spots around Lenox, and have confirmed details with each of you individually after receiving your RSVP. Please accept these arrangements as my gift to you for attending. I promise they are nice.
Of course, if you live nearby or prefer to fend for yourself, please let me know. Note that it is leaf-peeping season in the Berkshires, so many venues are already booked.
CAN YOU DRIVE ME HOME? TRANSPORTATION ON SATURDAY NIGHT
We’ve planned the weekend so that Wheatleigh is our center for all events. All of the accommodations we've reserved are within 15 minutes of Wheatleigh.
Please note that on Saturday evening, we will have shuttles on a constant loop between Wheatleigh and the other inns, allowing for an easy and quick flow of transportation. To allow for a maximum of carefree fun, please plan to use these shuttles on Saturday evening.
Shuttles will pick up from all hotels at 5:30 pm on Saturday and will run constant return loops starting at 9 pm and running as late as needed. If you have kids in car seats or simply prefer your own transportation, of course that’s fine too. Please note that Lenox is not an urban area, so it’s not practical to depend on taxis or ride apps.
